The Hamilton Convention Centre by Carmens is one of Canada’s first full service,
privatized convention and event facilities located in the heart of downtown Hamilton.
It is the largest event venue in the City of Hamilton capable of producing exceptional
events. The Hamilton Convention Centre is part of Carmens Group; an entertainment and
hospitality company committed to creating extraordinary experiences to our clients and

- Conduct proactive patrols of venue
- Secure and protect the Hamilton Convention Centre assets
- Ensure the safety of all guests, clients and team members
- Respond to emergency and non- emergency calls; assess situations; liase with emergency services
- Work with third party security providers when needed
- Maintain records of all activities and incidents at the Hamilton Convention Centre
- Enforce emergency plans; inform relevant authorities to locations in event of emergencies; assist with evacuation procedures as required
- Exercise good judgment and demonstrate leadership abilities
- Ensure regular safety and emergency inspections are complete
- Be on site during events
- Make a difference in the lives of each and every one of our guests by directly contributing to their extraordinary experiences
- Drive positive change in the organization
- Other duties as assigned
- 1-3 years’ experience working in event security
- Positive, outgoing and friendly team player
- Exceptional problem-solving abilities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Security Guard License
- First Aid Certification considered an asset
- Flexible availability including evenings and weekends
- Knowledge of emergency and evacuation procedures
