Marketing & Communications Coordinator

The Marketing & Communications Coordinator will primarily be responsible for the development and execution of customer facing marketing and communications with a strong emphasis on digital content creation and social media. This role is essential to generating leads, driving business and providing an exceptional customer experience both on and offline. In addition, the Marketing & Communications Coordinator will assist with the development of content for internal communications and community programs.

  • Assist in the development and management of a social media strategy to increase audience and engagement
  • Develop, implement and monitor email marketing campaigns to enhance conversions, build brand awareness and retain customers
  • Design and create content for marketing materials in both print and online formats
  • Work with print and promotional vendors to establish quotes, production schedules and material delivery to various business units
  • Act as a brand ambassador, upholding brand stands and consistency in all projects
  • Create and coordinate content for internal communications across the Carmen’s Group
  • Create, optimize and manage online content for search engines and lead generation
  • Ongoing development of the user experience on Carmen’s Group websites
  • Actively monitor online brand reputation and response to reviews
  • Collaborating and assisting on other marketing, sales and special projects as requested

Skills & Requirements

  • Excellent written communication in a strong and personable style
  • Proficient with Adobe software (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat)
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel & Powerpoint
  • Proficient graphic design skills
  • Working knowledge of Wordpress
  • Working knowledge of marketing concepts, social media, SEO, HTML/CSS, and design. 
  • Working knowledge of printing processes
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
  • Creative thinker and problem solver with analytical mind
  • Strong project management skills with an ability to organize and pull together many pieces of information into a succinct outcome


  • Post-secondary education in marketing, communications, journalism, public relations or related field
  • Must have portfolio that includes examples of both written work and graphic design
  • Understanding of the hospitality industry is considered an asset
  • Photography experience is considered an asset
  • Flexible and adaptive working style
  • Great sense of humour
